Singer-songwriter to perform at private concert to support the Foundation’s 2010 grant recipients
SAN DIEGO (July 27, 2010)— The Barney & Barney Foundation today kicks off its annual fundraising event, a benefit concert at the Grand Del Mar featuring San Diego singer-songwriter Tristan Prettyman. The Foundation was established last year by Barney & Barney LLC, one of California’s largest and longest-standing insurance brokerages, in honor of the company’s centennial anniversary. This year, the Foundation will raise money by hosting a benefit concert at the Grand Del Mar in San Diego.

About the Barney & Barney’s 2010 Grant Recipients
Founded by the Principals and Associates of Barney & Barney, the Foundation accepts grant nominations once a year from its Associates. The proposals are then reviewed and narrowed down by a committee, after which potential recipients are invited to apply formally. Grant amounts vary year after year, depending on funds raised and the need of the potential recipient.

Last year The Foundation granted $180,000 to charities in San Diego, Orange County and the Bay Area, the three regions in which the company has offices.
