Arlene Lieberman joined Barney & Barney in 1997 and became a Principal in the Emplyoee Benefits Department in 2002. She is a Practice Group Leader and a member of Barney & Barney’s board of director, which is made up of senior leadership and has responsibility for overall governance matters and setting strategic direction for the firm.
Arlene has dedicated over 28 years to the insurance industry and is responsible for the development and design of employee benefit packages for large national and international employer groups. She works closely with her clients in establishing strategic short and long term objectives to control benefit costs. She has implemented numerous Consumer Driven models supported by Health and Productivity Wellness Programs to support this strategy. As an expert on insurance legislation and regulations, she is an aggressive advocate on behalf of her clients.
Arlene is also a member of the Barney & Barney Foundation board of directors and the 2009 & 2010 Chairperson of the Barney & Barney Foundation "Caring for Community" fundraising event. In addition, she is a member of the Sharp Speaking of Women’s Health Advisory Board and is a 2007 recipient of the San Diego Business Journal’s "Women Who Mean Business" award.
Arlene holds a Master of Science degree in education. She also holds the distinguished designation of Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) which demonstrates her commitment to the employee benefits field.
