Mike Milligan

Mike joined Barney & Barney in 2000 and became a Principal of the company in 2008. As the Life Science Practice Group Leader, Mike is responsible for creating opportunities and maintaining client relationships for Barney & Barney in the life science industry. This includes providing risk management strategies for issues involving Clinical Trials and Product Liability. Under his leadership, the Life Science Practice Group has placed 300 policies in over 75 countries.


Mike works with organizations from new venture formation through the IPO process and has also been extensively involved in addressing Directors & Officers Liability needs of public companies.


Mike was named a "Power Broker" by Risk & Insurance Magazine in 2010. He was also included in their "40 Under 40" list and ranked as one of the youngest among the recipients. He currently serves as the Chair of the Financial Community Relations Committee for BIOCOM and helped establish the CFO Reception Series. He is also on the board for the USD Endowed Scholarship Fund.


A native of Southern California, Mike earned his Bachelor's degree in communications with two business minors from the University of San Diego. He holds the designations of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Accredited Advisor of Insurance (AAI).
