Pat joined Barney & Barney as an Account Executive in 1997 and became a Principal in 2003. He now specializes in the placement of property, casualty and workers’ compensation insurance programs for large and middle market companies. He has a keen understanding of business, working closely with his clients to structure alternative risk programs that are tailored to their specific needs.
Pat is a leader on the Technology/Life Science Practice team, which focuses on the unique needs of clients in these industries. He also leads a property/casualty team, ensuring their focus is listening to clients to deliver more than expected. In addition to working with clients in the technology and life science industries, he also serves clients in the real estate, development and manufacturing sectors.
Prior to joining Barney & Barney, Pat served three years as an insurance broker with another San Diego firm and seven years as a commercial lines underwriter and marketing representative for a national carrier.
Pat is active in BIOCOM, CONNECT, and the Downtown San Diego Partnership. He is on the Board of Directors for the American Liver Foundation.
Pat earned a degree in finance and economics from California State at Chico. He holds professional designations of Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).
