Steve joined Barney & Barney as a Principal in 2001. He is a Health & Welfare Practice Group Leader and manages several of Barney & Barney’s largest clients in the hospitality, health care and education industries.
Prior to joining Barney & Barney, Steve had 15 years of experience inside health plans and insurance companies, where he held leadership positions in sales, marketing and client management.
Steve is a member of the Boards of Directors for Barney & Barney, the Sharp HealthCare Foundation, and the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau. He is a member of the Century Club of San Diego, the Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers, and the International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists. Steve also sits on Advisory Councils for several national insurance companies, and is a member of the Industry Committee for the Global Hotel Network.
Steve graduated from St. Mary's College of CAin1987,completing a B.A. in Integral Studies as ascholarship athletein Men's Tennis. He completed his Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) certificate through the International Foundation/Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1990.
